T O P I C R E V I E WRossI found the following two covers in a group of six that I recently purchased on eBay. I was wondering what event they were issued for. One cover is a Spacepex '75 cover but that event was held from 25-27 July. Viking 1 was launched 20 August but I can find no information that the USS Okinawa was involved. It appears that both covers were issued by the JSC Stamp Club. Please can anyone help?fimychRoss, I have seen such covers on eBay a couple of times lately. As far as I managed to dig – no connection to ASTP recovery. USS Okinawa LPH-3 took part in operations Eagle Pull and Frequent Wind (evacuations in Cambodia and Vietnam in Apr-May 1975) and in summer was positioned in San Diego homeport for post-deployment stand-down. There is no mention of any kind of PRS backup task.I was bidding on the same lot just to list these USS Okinawa covers in my website as irrelevant to ASTP, just a nice "naval souvenirs."
